A careless crane driver touched high-voltage lines, in turn touching off the torching of his vehicle.

Firefighters were called to extinguish the burning Mitsubishi crane truck on Sukhumvit Road near the Index home-furnishings store Feb. 9. All eight of the truck’s back tires were ablaze.

Driver Rarat Rathawong, 47, said he was lifting the basket when he accidentally hit the power lines. Wearing gloves, he avoided being burnt and escaped the vehicle before it exploded in flames.
