A Russian suspected of abusing drugs was arrested after flying into a crazed rage at a Jomtien Beach guesthouse.

Alexsandr Ushakov, 36, was captured following a lengthy standoff at the Beach House on Jomtien Soi 5 Nov. 24. Management called police after Ushakov started talking to himself and pacing outside his room in his underwear before going downstairs and scaring other guests.

Police arrived around 12:30 a.m. to find him glaring at guests and mumbling. Officers tried to calm him for about 30 minutes before getting another Russian-speaking guest to translate. Ushakov then left the Beach House where police apprehended him immediately.

Police suspected the Russian was high on drugs.
