An Issan man wearing a 100,000-baht gold necklace had it stolen as he bicycled through Pattaya.
Suwan Tangtrakul, 43, told police he was biking to the market May 17 when a youth drove by on a motorcycle at Tungkard Soi 5 and Sukhumvit Road and ripped the five-baht-weight chain from his neck. Suwan was left with only an amulet that the thief dropped as he sped away.
The Khon Kaen native believes the thief had been staking out his home nearby and knew he rode a bicycle around town while showing off his fat gold chain.
