The December arrest of a northern drug runner caught with 200,000 methamphetamine pills in Pattaya is paying off, with police arresting his alleged local dealer and two others.
Attasit Loywisut, 41, was captured Jan. 10 with 56,000 ya ba pills, two 9-mm. handguns, 20 bullets, two cellphones, three pickup trucks and a motorcycle.
Attasit went into hiding in Sattahip last month after the arrest of his alleged boss, Sophon Sainee, a 46-year-old who had spent 16 years in prison for trafficking methamphetamines in Samut Prakan in 2000.
Pattaya and Narcotics Suppression Division police were able to get an informant into Attasit’s network, who gave up the location of a delivery of 20,000 speed pills at the Bira Circuit on Highway 36. Officers and soldiers then raided his house in Ban Chang where more drugs were found.
While in that area, narcotics police also arrested two others believed to be dealing drugs locally. It’s unknown if they were part of Attasit’s ring.
Prapaporn Boonlon, 29, was caught with 73 grams of crystal methamphetamine, two grams of ketamine, seven ya ba tablets, and two ecstasy tablets.
Winit Kowjan, 30, with apprehended with 17 g. of ya ice.
