PATTAYA, Thailand – A violent altercation broke out inside a wholesale store located in Soi Khao Noi, East Pattaya, at 8 PM on March 9, after a 19-year-old woman became upset over a cart blocking her way. The incident, which was captured on CCTV, escalated into the assailant choking and pulling the victim’s hair, causing her to fall to the ground.
The victim, identified as 44-year-old Akira Park, shared that she and her children were pushing a shopping cart towards the checkout counter when the narrow aisle only allowed one cart to pass at a time. She politely asked the other person blocking the way, “Excuse me, could you please step back a couple of steps?” However, her request was denied, and the other person aggressively shoved their cart into hers, causing a verbal argument.
Seeing the situation escalate, Akira attempted to walk away from the store, but the other person falsely accused her of trying to confront their mother. The attacker then grabbed Akira by the throat forcefully. Despite Akira’s attempts to shield herself without retaliating, as she had her children with her, the situation continued to worsen. As Akira was leaving the store, the attacker followed her and violently yanked her hair, causing her to stumble, which was all captured by CCTV.
Following the assault, Akira filed a complaint with the Nongprue Police Station and invited the perpetrator for questioning. However, the authorities scheduled another meeting for a possible resolution, which left Akira concerned about the fairness of the process. She vowed to pursue legal action against the 19-year-old assailant and seek justice.
Attempts by the press to contact the suspect, identified as Noi, were unsuccessful as she declined to comment, stating, “I’m not available for an interview” before hanging up.
