Police captured a burglar who had been attacked by dogs after twice terrorizing a Sattahip woman.
Noppadech Chaisiri, 27, was arrested Feb. 1 at an apartment behind the home of Anchalee Santhi, 24, who was attacked on the nights of Jan. 29 and 30.
Although Anchalee filed a police report after the first incident – in which Noppadech allegedly bludgeoned her with a metal bar while reaching through her kitchen window – police allegedly failed to investigate. After the burglar in a full face mask returned the next night, the victim excoriated Sattahip police on social media and their highest-ranking officers finally responded.
When Noppadech, a mechanic originally from Udon Thani, was arrested, he confessed to the attacks, saying he had been watching the young woman for a while and knew that she was alone after dark because her husband worked nights, police said.
What Noppadech didn’t expect was that Anchalee’s 2-year-old dogs Sammy and Lucky would come to her rescue. They pounced on the burglar when he came through the front door.
He was charged with assault and home invasion.
