Stray dogs killed 11 chickens, the latest of more than a hundred birds killed by wild canines in Sattahip this year.

Najomtien Moo 2 village chief Jarin Samipak and local officials inspected the carnage at the farm on the border of Najomtien Euartorn Village July 6.

Chicken farmer Laor Duangprasert, 77, showed them the ravaged carcasses of the cocks at two henhouses broken into by dogs.

Laor said she has lost more than 100 cocks to a pack of five local dogs in the past six months. She said she wanted to hit the dogs to scare them away, but was afraid she’d be arrested on animal cruelty laws.

Jarin expressed his sympathy, but offered little help other than to join in burying the birds.
