The driver of a 10-wheeled truck died after slamming into the back of a larger truck in Pong.

Uthai Polun, 38, died at Banglamung Hospital from injuries sustained when he was trapped in his 10-wheeled Hino in the front of Caltex gas station on Highway 36 Nov. 20.

Prapat Pattawing, 48, said he was driving his 18-wheeler and turned into the gas station when Uthai crashed into the rear of his Nonthaburi-registered lorry.

He insisted he used his turn signal and claimed the dead driver was speeding or looked like he fell asleep behind the wheel.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage to determine blame.
