A drunk Koh Larn man was arrested for scaring tourists with an M16 assault rifle.
Saneh Bunying, 56, was arrested at his island home March 7. Police seized the machine gun in the arrest.
Police said Bunying confessed he had been in an argument with his relatives, and used the gun to threaten them. But he didn’t plan to shoot anybody and did not mean to scare tourists, he said.
Bunying told police he’d gotten the gun 20 years ago during a shooting course on Koh Larn. He was charged with illegal possession of a military weapon.
