Dried squid, coffee and whiskey flew – but no one was injured – when a drunk driver plowed his minibus into two street vendor carts near Walking Street.
Police arrived at the South Road opening of the nightlife strip around 3:30 a.m. March 1 to find both a coffee cart and dried squid stand destroyed and three drunk men ranting outside their Bangkok minibus.
Driver Saksorn Kithichaiyapumi, 25, Kithisak Hanmontree, the 65-year-old vehicle owner, and a passenger identified only Keng refused to cooperate with police or were too inebriated to answer coherently. Keng was escorted away while still clutching two bottles of whiskey and some mixers.
