A Suphan Buri man drowned after heavy drinking in Samae San.

Police and Sawang Rochana Thammasathan Foundation divers responded to Samae San Beach April 13 after reports that a swimmer had gone missing.

Five divers took several hours to retrieve the body of Monchai Horklang, 40, from a fishing boat anchorage zone about 500 meters off shore where the water runs six meters deep.

The corpse was sent to Sattahip Km. 10 Hospital for a forensic examination.

Sister Wanna Jaipeng, 36, said Monchai had brought his family of five from Suphan Buri’s Si Pracha District for Songkran. But the patriarch got drunk and refused to listen to others who told him not to go in the water. He did and did not return alive.
