The Dec. 23 raid at the Soi Bunkanjanaram 2 mall came after complaints from Thai travel agents that Russians were stealing their jobs as tour guides by working illegally for travel businesses set up under a Thai nominee.

DSI officials said they’d also received information that Vitamax contained numerous stalls selling items that were illegally imported and/or did not comply with Thai food, drug and cosmetics laws.

Vitamax Director Yosavaj Harnthanaprasert, 56, and General Manager Patanan Testhamwitid, 30, were arrested.
