A burglar with particular knowledge of the Chinese victim made off with 51,000 baht in cash from an East Pattaya house.
Nongprue police responded to Siam Royal Hill Village in Soi Khao Talo Sept. 18 where Chinese expat Ming Liang Xu, 40, showed them a smashed bathroom window and ransacked closet. Nothing else was disturbed.
Ming said he had 50,000 baht in the pocket of a pair of pants in the closet. Somehow, the thief knew exactly where to look. Another 1,000 baht left on a nightstand also was gone, Ming said.
Police are investigating.
