Teachers and community leaders gained valuable insight on how to prevent child molestation in a seminar by the Supanimit Foundation.
About 50 educators attended the Sept. 16 workshop at Pattaya City Hall, hosted by Chalermchai Chaiprasert, coordinator of the Child Protection Center.
“How to protect and prevent exploitation of children in tourism” covered education of residents, parents, teachers, community leaders and kids themselves on how to avoid those trying to exploit children.
Chalermchai Chaiprasert, coordinator of the Child Protection Center, hosts the event.
The foundation supplies technical support relating to child protection and helps establish community-based development to reach its goals.
The Supanimit Foundation has changed the concept and approach to community development by focusing on the development of the area that is characterized by self-reliance and sustainability, calling it the Area Development Program. The intention is to change the lives of the children, families and the community.
Other programs in the seminar were to prevent other community problems, such as AIDS and drugs, which can be major problems for everyone. Also, to develop the environment, the group has contacted government agencies, police departments and churches.
