Another endangered green turtle has died near Sattahip, a victim of a boat propeller.
Sea Turtle Conservation Center officials performed an autopsy on the carcass of the 15-year-old female turtle found floating near Crocodile Head Island Oct. 9.
The turtle was 64 centimeters long and 60 cm wide. Its shell had been broken by a boat prop. It had been dead about three days before being pulled ashore by a fisherman.
Navy officials again urged fishermen to be careful of turtles, especially during rainy season when they swim closer to the surface. Fishermen also were warned not to dump garbage overboard, as turtles confuse it for food.
Both green and hawksbill turtles found in the Gulf of Thailand are classified as endangered species.
