Police are searching for seven men masquerading as fake narcotics officers who kidnapped and robbed two women in Sriracha.
Saranya Srichamnan, 23, filed a police complaint Sept. 22 saying she and a friend were headed to meet a third friend named Tan at a nightclub in Bo Win Sept. 15 when they were stopped by the fake cops, who claimed Tan had been named in arrest warrant for using drugs.
Saranya she believed them as, in fact, she had done drugs with Tan a week earlier.
The gang loaded up their motorbike on a pickup truck and pushed the two women into a black sedan, then took them to a “safe house” on Sukhumvit Soi 79.
There Saranya’s friend was coerced into transferring 35,000 baht to a woman named Narinthorn Tasuwan and give up a gold ring. The women then were dumped at a gas station near where they were taken.
Sattahip police said they can identify all seven gang members and are pulling CCTV footage to build a case against them.
