A family of three was killed when their BMW crashed into a 10-wheeled truck the driver had tried, and failed, to overtake in Pong.

Driver Sermsak Changlek, 42, his wife Patuma, 32, and their 5-year-old daughter died instantly when their BMW ran into a Kanchana Baan Concrete truck driven by Kwanmuang Chantachote, 50. The accident occurred in Pong Sub-district near the Provincial Waterworks Authority office.

Kwanmuang told police the BMW attempted to overtake a pickup truck and his own heavy truck on a two-lane road, but was unsuccessful, ramming into the lorry, killing all inside.

Sermsak’s sister, Wasana Changlek, said the family head was a contractor who was in Pong to visit his mother for Mother’s Day.
