Finnish fugitive’s Pattaya home searched, seized

Police raided a 10 million baht house owned by a 64-year-old Finnish fugitive wanted in his homeland on fraud charges.

Hannu Tapani Torpström was not in his Central Park Village 2 home when Transnational Crime Coordination Center officers arrived with a search warrant June 7.

At the luxurious residence, police seized bank books, financial records and other documents.

Police said Torpström is accused of making off with more than 2 million euros in a construction-fraud scheme in 2009 and bought the house and two condos in Pattaya.

All the properties were seized by police.
