Fire damaged hotel construction in Naklua, but injured no one.
Firefighters were called to the site of the new Le Bali Hotel on Soi Thai-U-Dom around 2 a.m. Jan. 14. Smoke was pouring from the basement level of the center building of the three-unit structure.
Security guard Surat Tiemsing, 23, said he saw fire and smoke in a basement storage room and tried to quell the flames with a fire extinguisher, but it proved too big to handle.
Damage could not be estimated initially, as construction materials including plywood, PVC pipes and paint thinner were destroyed in the storage room fire.
