Pattaya firefighters and marine rescuers brushed up on their emergency-response skills at a five-day training course.
Deputy Mayor Wuthipol Charoenpol and Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department chief Surath Thepchaito opened the Jan. 10-14 course at the Jomtien Fire Station. A second round of training is scheduled for Jan. 24-29.
Employees from the disaster mitigation department, Sea Rescue Center staffers and Marine Department workers jointly trained on emergency-response techniques, focusing on cooperation when accidents occur at sea.
The courses are meant to bolster skills and response as well as reassure tourists about safety in Pattaya. (PCPR)
