An experienced fisherman died after apparently drowning setting crab nets in Sattahip Bay.
The body of Jamnong Sitthirod, 40, was brought to Bang Saray’s fishing pier Sept. 12 by friend Saroj Kadnet, 40, a few hours after Jamnong went missing off Koh Khram.
Saroj said he, the victim and another fishermen had been setting crab nets when he noticed his friend was missing. Saroj said he assumed that Jamrong got hot and went for a swim, but became concerned when he didn’t return after 20 minutes.
Saroj dived in and found the lifeless body of the fisherman under his boat.
There was no sign of injury, so the body was sent to Sattahip Km. 10 Hospital to determine the cause of death, or at least what caused the experienced fisherman and swimmer to drown.
