A fisherman reported his fishing boat lost found it three days later – sunk in Pattaya Bay.

Somai Namwong, 32, last saw his squid boat anchored about a mile off Bang Saray, tied to a 1.8-centimenter-wide rope. It had been idle about a month.

Somai Namwong shows the rope his boat had been tied to before it disappeared to the bottom of Pattaya Bay.

But when Somai went to fetch the 100,000-baht boat Nov. 6, it was missing and he contacted police.

Police told him Nov. 9 that they found the boat – at the bottom of the sea near Bali Hai Pier. The wreckage already had been salvaged, but the Marine Department was waiting on the fisherman to provide ownership documents before it could turn over the remains.
