The wife of a Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation volunteer died while they were driving home from the South after distributing flood-relief supplies.
Lakana Kondee, 29, died instantly when the Toyota Vigo being driven by her husband, Ronpipope, 30, slammed into the trailer of a 10-wheeled truck as it went up a hill on Highway 7 Jan. 29.
Ronpipope and his 5-year-old son sleeping in the back both were injured.
Ronpipope told police they were returning from the South where they helped distribute donated emergency supplies to flood victims. He did not explain how he rear-ended the tractor-trailer, killing his wife in the passenger seat.
The driver of the large truck was invited to the police station to explain his side of the story.
