From the fog shrouding Pattaya Nov. 21, you’d be forgiven if you thought you woke up in London.
Mist and storm-driven fog rendered the high-priced views from luxury condo towers worthless, although tourists at the Pratamnak Hill viewpoint still got a passable glimpse of Pattaya Bay.
The Meteorological Department said a heavy storm in the Northeast had been swept out over the Gulf of Thailand and increased moisture in the air in coastal provinces.
The fog was so thick that it was so dark mid-afternoon it could have been mistaken for early night. During the day the temperature hit 30.7 degrees Celsius while the overnight temps dropped to 24C.
Marine swells also surged up to a meter high.
