Football match raises 24,000 baht for sports equipment

A charity football tournament raised 24,000 baht for sporting goods that will be used to bring more youngsters into sports and train them for the future.

City Councilman Praiwan Arromchuen joined other members in opening the July 26 tourney at the Eastern National Indoor Sports Arena in Jomtien Beach.

The tournament was split into two categories, a youth contest sponsored by the Pattaya Football Club and for adults.

Participants in the senior bracket included the Pattaya Press Club and Sudsakorn Gym, which faced off to in an attempt show youths a display of good sportsmanship and hard work.

The scores of the matches were not recorded and the day was more about fun than who won or lost.

Kangwan Chareonkarn, manager of the Pattaya Football Club, said that the club is focused on building skills of Pattaya players and giving the opportunity to all youths to train to become professionals.

The tournament raised 24,000 THB and was used to purchase additional sporting gear and equipment for young members of the Pattaya Football Club.
