A foul-mouthed Pattaya fruit vendor has been fined for swearing at authorities.
Sirirporn Saempetch, a Jomtien Beach hawker, was taken into custody Sept. 22 after going on a profanity-punctuated tirade against regulatory enforcement officers Nopadol Paenkaew and Salee Kaewchali.
The incident was captured on video and posted to social media. Police reviewed the footage and ruled that municipal officers were only doing their job and remained calm as they were being assailed.
A day later, Sirirporn apologized to the two men and told the media she was not resisting arrest. She simply got angry at the officers when they allegedly pulled her by the arm violently.
She paid a 2,000-baht fine and was warned a repeat performance would land her at least a night in jail.
