Pattaya police arrested two men who allegedly shot dead a Pattaya motorcycle-taxi driver in broad daylight a suspected gambling debt.
Manas Imnam, 39, and NiphonPanthong, 45, were captured early Thursday by police in Bangsaen where they allegedly fled after killing PratumSaardnuk, 47, with a single bullet to the face July 28 on Soi 17 behind Pattaya School No. 8.
Witness ParidsadaKlubpong, 28, found him found slumped over his Yamaha Smart Style moments after he’d dropped her off on Soi 17. She had hired Pratum after getting off a ferry at Bali Hai Pier to take her to her car parked behind the school.
As she got in her vehicle, she heard the gunshot and saw two men fleeing on a motorbike.
A close friend of the dead man said he liked to gamble and often talked bluntly.
Police used CCTV footage to track the gunmen back to an apartment on NongprueSoi 5 where they found the blue Honda PCX believed to have been used in the crime, a gun and clothing the suspects were wearing.
Investigators then, somehow, traced the two men to Bangsaen. They were brought back to Pattaya today and are expected to re-enact the crime Friday for police and the media.
