Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome launched his re-election campaign with videos and a mascot promoting his idea of a “new look” for the city.

Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome poses with some of the mascots for his new image of Pattaya.
“We will not stop announcing to the world that Pattaya is one of the most-important tourism destinations in the world,” Itthiphol said. “We will push our master plan and develop Pattaya to be ready and have the potential to develop, with investments in infrastructure such as a rail link from Suvarnabhumi International Airport.”
Hoping to give his re-election bid professional-looking polish, the mayor not only had a video created, but marketing slogan, logos and mascot. Under the “Pattaya’s New Look” title was a subhead of “Pattaya City – Definitely More.” The logo uses a dolphin to stress a resort that balances tourism with the environment.
“Giving importance to nature along with growth of the city is the first priority in managing a system for tourists to see the perfection and readiness of Pattaya’s natural resources,” the mayor said.
The mayor plans to launch a naming contest for the dolphin on the logo and advertise his “new look” on television, radio and online.
