Pattaya, Thailand – In a dramatic incident, a foreign man identified as Heinz Edgar Eugen, a 60-year-old German national, tried to take his life by climbing off the eighth floor balcony of The Orient Resort & Spa Condominium in Soi Wat Boonkanjanaram in Jomtien.

Rescue workers worked for several hours to calm the distraught man using translators to communicate with him. The man was wearing only black underwear as he stood perilously on the ledge outside the building. Meanwhile inflatable cushions were strategically placed on the ground floor as a safety measure.

His spouse revealed that Mr. Heinz was struggling with legal issues in his home country and had consumed large amounts of marijuana and alcohol, affecting his mental state.

As the rescue workers distracted the suicidal man, a foreign resident in a nearby room quietly opened his window and grabbed Heinz before he could jump. With the help of rescue workers Heinz was successfully dragged inside, ensuring his safety. He was promptly taken to Banglamung Hospital for medical evaluation and care.
