A German man was pickpocketed by a Beach Road streetwalker who tried to befriend him.
Helmut Humpiner, 53, told police he was strolling down Beach Road at 2 a.m. Feb. 18 and, near Soi 9, was approached by a prostitute who hugged and propositioned him. He said he turned down the offer, but, a moment later, realized his wallet and hotel room key was gone.
He walked 20 meters to the Pattaya Police Station to report the theft of his 1,900 baht, credit cards and key.
Police were unable to find the perpetrator.
