Human-trafficking police raided two Pattaya-area karaoke bars, rescuing four girls ages 14-17 pushed into the sex trade.

A task force of human-trafficking, women and children’s division, and immigration officers stormed the Krua Lakhana club in Pattaya just after midnight Dec. 13. Two 17-year-old girls were found available for sex to both Thai and foreign customers.

Owner Lukkhana Patthama, 46, was charged with human trafficking in prostitution, operating a brothel and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Also taken into custody were Janlai Sila Mahasarakam, 53, and Wassana Krimjai, 24, who were charged with pimping and pandering.

The raid came a day after human-trafficking police raided the Jae Su karaoke bar in Nongprue where two 14-year-old were rescued.

Manager Supap Kaewpua, 60, was arrested after undercover officers paid her to obtain sexual services from the underage girls.
