The weather was lousy and the view of the ships worse, but guests at Urs Brunner barbecue party didn’t care.

Brunner, founder of the Bon Cafe chain in Thailand, threw a private grill party for friends on the roof terrace of the Bali Hai View Center to watch the goings-on at sea for the International Fleet Review on Nov. 18.

Persistent rain and heavy clouds spoiled the show.

But Heiko Klimanschwfski of the Poseidon Restaurant in the Jomtien Complex did the catering and there was plenty of booze, so no one really cared and, in fact, decided they should all take a cruise on Urs’s Apollo Cruises line and do it again.

Nice view onto the sea with the warships in the background after the weather cleared up a bit.
