Thais and expats covered by the universal-coverage healthcare system can now use their government-insurance benefits at Pattaya Hospital.
Hospital officials briefed about 50 civil servants and Pattaya residents on the new benefits March 5 at the Soi Buakaow facility.
License Department chief Anocha Khamsamer said insurance can be used for routine checkups and full-service treatment, as well as transport to other hospitals.

Pattaya Hospital is now more 90 percent operational and offers obstetric, pediatric, surgical, radiology, anesthesiology and other services.
“Pattaya Hospital has now been registered through the National Health Security Office and is operated with some of the best doctors and qualified medical teams from Thonburi Hospital, which will be managing the hospital like a private facility but at a government price,” she said.
Registration to use universal coverage benefits at Pattaya Hospital can be done at the Health Insurance Talay Tong Office through March 31.
