Two people were injured in a fire that left a room of a Pattaya guesthouse in ashes.
An unidentified couple staying in the room above the blaze in room 303 of Renu House on Third Road suffered minor smoke inhalation. They were transported to Bangkok Hospital Pattaya for treatment.
The cause of the May 29 fire is unknown, but an electrical short is suspected. It took firefighters about 20 minutes to extinguish the flames that were confined to the single room.
Cleaner Suthep Pongchaum said he spotted smoke coming from room 303 and reported it to reception so the long-stay hotel could be evacuated.
Damage was estimated at 1 million baht.
