The Highways Department may have opened new toll booths in Chonburi, but it did so without hiring enough workers to man them.
The department recently advertised 200 job openings to work the five booths in including Baan Bung, Bangpra, Nongkham, Pong and Pattaya.
Applicants must be Thai nationals between the ages of 18 and 35 and have graduated from at least ninth grade. Salary is 8,690 baht a month with 2,000 for expenses, and about 3,300 baht more for shift changes. Accommodations, with free shuttle to work, also are provided if needed.
There are three eight-hour shifts available starting at 6 a.m., 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. Employees get eight days off a month.
Those interested can apply at the Department of Highways office on Sri Ayutthaya Road Bangkok from 08:30-11:30 / 13:00-16:30, tel. 02 354 6537, or call into the Toll Booth Office in Ladkrabang, Bangkok, tel. 02 360 7865.
