Hot weather sparked a grass fire behind the Isuzu service center in Sattahip. No one was injured.
Ten trucks responded to the March 11 blaze on the border of Sattahip and Khet Udomsak municipalities.
The fire spread quickly, getting within 10 meters of the auto center’s walls before it was controlled. Nearby residents evacuated, but the fire was put under control within an hour. In all, about 10 rai of grassland burned.
Residents said they heard an explosion in the middle of the forested area then saw the flames. Hot weather is being blamed for the start of the blaze.
The wildfire managed to get quite close to businesses and homes before it was brought under control.
