An Ubon Ratchathani man on the run for six months has been arrested for burglarizing an Omani tourist’s hotel room.
Nakhorn Wannasri, 40, was captured at his apartment on Pattaya Central Road July 9.
The electrician was wanted on an arrest warrant issued after he allegedly stole the safe from a room at the hotel where he worked on Second Road.
The Omani guest who reported the theft said the safe, containing about 100,000 baht, was swapped with an empty one.
Nakhorn then fled to the Northeast where he hid out for several months before returning to Pattaya, thinking police had forgotten about him.
The accused burglar also is wanted on arrest warrants for similar crimes in Bangkok, Pattaya and Jomtien Beach.
