Two Thai men trying to one-up each other led to shots being fired at a baht bus carrying two Italian tourists in Pattaya.
The two shocked tourists were sitting with taxi driver Klisada Suebooth and his girlfriend around 5 a.m. on Sukhumvit Road near the Pattaya Floating Market when police arrived April 8.
The songthaew’s rear left wheel had been shot out and the shooters gone.
The 28-year-old baht bus driver told police he’d been taking the Italian tourists to their destination when a truck following them tried to overtake them. Klisada claims he heard a noise that made him think either that driver threw something or his truck clipped the songthaew.
The hothead taxi driver then rolled down his window and threw a water bottle at the other truck.
The usual testosterone battle ensued, with the mystery pickup chasing the baht bus until someone rolled down a window and fired off four or five shots before fleeing the scene.
Police checked CCTV cameras to try to identify the shooters.
