Four Cambodian monks were arrested and disrobed after immigration police discovered they had entered Thailand illegally.
A squad of Chonburi Immigration Office agents swarmed a hut in a potato field in Sriracha’s Bo Win sub-district where the monks were living May 22.
None of the four – with ages ranging from 33 to 66 – had passports; only monkhood certifications. They were charged with visa violations and stripped of their robes by area Buddhist officials before being deported back to their home country.
