Police found Somchart Mana in his room near the crime scend and took him into custody charging him for the murder of his co-worker.

A jealous husband suspecting that his wife was having an affair with one of his co-workers emptied a magazine of 9mm bullets into the head and body of the alleged suitor, killing him instantly.

Police rushed to the scene of the shooting at Standard Thai Rubber Factory in Nongyai district of Chonburi Sept.11 where they found Pitak Taveesub, 45, laying in a pool of blood. He had been shot with nine 9mm bullets.

The shooter was identified as Somchart Mana, 45, a repairman employed at the factory. Witnesses said that the dead man also worked at the same factory as the assistant production supervisor.

They told police that Somchart was suspicious of Pitak who was infatuated with his wife and had warned him many times to back off. Unfortunately, the victim could not control his desire for the woman and kept coming around to see her.

Somchart could not control his paranoia and jealousy, so he acquired a 9mm gun and waited for the fateful day to vent his frustration on the ill-fated would-be lover.
Shortly after the shooting, police located the shooter in his room not far from the scene of the crime. His wife consoled him as he wept uncontrollably. Police took away the gun with the empty magazine and took him into custody.

Initially police charged him with first degree murder, shooting a firearm in public, and carrying a gun and bullets in the city and public area without a permit.

Police found nine 9mm bullet casings strewn across the factory floor where the distraught man had shot his colleague to death.
