Lifeguards were seen treating a boy under age 10 crying in pain on the beach Oct. 30. He said his arm stung and he itched all over. Lifeguard used vinegar to take the sting out.

The recent bloom of jellyfish off Pattaya beaches has dissipated, but separated tentacles and dead juvenile jellies remain in the water.

They pose no risk of fatality, but are painful if encountered. Vinegar and extremely hot water can be poured on affected areas to relieve the pain.
