Well-traveled Jomtien Beach Road is getting an upgrade, its asphalt surface being replaced with steel-reinforced concrete.
Work on the 360-meter roadway began Feb. 2 and is scheduled for completion Feb. 28.
The asphalt surface will upgraded with concrete 20cm thick and reinforced with steel supports. Sixteen manhole covers will be replaced.
Project lead Suntorn Sompramai said the 4.5 million baht project will make travel easier and improve traffic flow. He asked that, when possible, drivers avoid Jomtien Beach Road during construction.
Expect traffic buildup this month as city workers resurface Jomtien Beach Road.
