Pattaya authorities have successfully cleared Jomtien Beach’s footpath of street vendors as it continues to phase out the independent small businesses.
Legal chief Sretapol Boonsawat inspected the Jomtien beachfront Sept. 15 and found no hawkers working between Soi 3 and Soi 5.
However, several shop owners were caught setting out retail items on sidewalks. No warnings were given, but Pattaya regulatory enforcement officers confiscated the property and fined them 2,000 baht for encroaching on public land.
