Those living near the Grand Jomtien Hotel said Oct. 19 that the project promised 2×2-meter culvert boxes and 0.60×2-meter pipes to manage the sewage along a 75-meter stretch, but this has not been completed.

The 61.2-million-baht job began on Jan. 7 and was supposed to be done by Sept. 12.

Siritorn Rakangthong, operations manager for contractor PSI Engineering Ltd., admitted that the company has only completed less than 60 percent of the work.

Residents are sick of the traffic, noise and disruption and say the work is contributing to flooding problems.
