New trees were planted on traffic islands along Thappraya Road and Jomtien Second Road to help beautify the area.
More than 50 workers from Nong Nooch Tropical Garden prepared new soil and began planting trees, shrubs and flowers on the two streets Sept. 9.
Holes also were dug five meters apart along the three-kilometer stretch from Chaiyapruek Road to the Hanuman statue to plant the trees.
The preparations and tree planting actually started in late August, but workers were waiting for the soil to get a bit moist from rain before planting the trees.
Work on the center island along Thappraya Road and Jomtien Second Road is progressing nicely.
The objective of the tree planting project was to create a green environment along the new roads and because Jomtien Second Road is one of the main routes out of Pattaya, leaving visitors with a good impression.
A Nong Nooch subsidiary is the main contractor for the ongoing renovation of Jomtien Beach, expanding the footpaths and upgrading the area to welcome the upcoming high season.
