Installation of six water pumps along the railway-parallel road is underway with hopes it will relieve flooding problems by the time rainy season hits.
Pattaya Deputy Mayor Pattana Boonsawat, engineers, contractors from Proper Solution Co. and the head of the Marbpradu Community visited the new Khao Talo Pump Station Jan. 4.
Proper Solutions and Joint Venture Co. were hired to build the station to combat flooding in East Pattaya after canal dredging, pipe cleaning and landscaping failed to solve the problem.
The pumps can move 0.75 cu. meters of water per second to the Huay Yai Pump Station, which in turn funnels the water into drainage canals leading to the sea.
The project is only 5 percent finished and no estimate was given when it would be operational.
