Preparing for unseen emergencies, Khet Udomsak Sub-district trained its latest class of civil-defense volunteers.
Volunteer squad director Prarinya Pothisat led the May 18-22 training at the Sattahip municipality’s main office.
Deputy Mayor Supachai Nimanong said global warming is believed to be behind an increase in natural disasters and local governments must prepare and train people to help in times of emergencies.

Prarinya said the training, which included both theory and practical exercises, will hopefully help civil-defense volunteers to work efficiently on behalf of disaster victims. They must work fast and show good cooperation with other officers to work productively.
