Khet Udomsak trains residents in beach rescues

Khet Udomsak Sub-district hosted a training course for locals, teaching the marine rescue and first aid skills to help tourists visiting area beaches during the holidays.

Mayor Pairoj Malakul Na Ayutthaya presided over the class at the sub-district’s gymnasium Dec. 21.

The three-day workshop was taught by professionals from Apakorn Kiettiwong Hospital with actors Phan Dee and Phan Den of the Jai-Tung-Jai group participating along with about 30 local residents.

Sawek Puangbanlung, president of the Lem Tien Community, said that area beaches draw many visitors and locals need training so that both the victim and rescuer remain safe.

Pairoj said proper training answers questions among potential rescuers regarding prevention and problem solving. Furthermore, attendees able can share what they learn with others.
