Employees at Pattaya’s King Power duty-free mall freed time to do their civic duty by donating blood to the Thai Red Cross.
Technicians from Queen Savang Vadhana Memorial Hospital rolled up in their 10-bed bus at the Sukhumvit Road store for the March 4 blood drive. They were joined by four staff from Banglamung Hospital.
Thirty-five staffers rolled up their sleeves, donating 14,150cc of blood for the Sriracha hospital’s blood bank.

Cashier Nattaporn Tangsaengsuwan said she has donated blood five times. She was nervous at first, but did it anyway because it is considered as helpful to mankind.
Supervisor Manon Tangsaengsuwan, 35, said he has donated 17 times and plans to continue doing so while encouraging others to donate.
Pornphat Ratchavetpisan, head of Thai Red Cross volunteers from Banglamung Hospital, said 77 percent of blood donations are used for procedures while 23 percent are used for blood diseases, such as hemophilia.
Blood donations by Thai Red Cross take place every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at Queen Savang Vadhana Memorial Hospital. Call 038-322-157-9 for information.
