Thailand government agencies are holding a national celebration to commemorate the 60th birthday of HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn.
Culture Ministry Inspector General Sahawat Naenna said a nationwide campaign to commemorate the completion of HRH the Crown Prince’s fifth cycle birthday is planned in Bangkok and in spots around the country starting July 27 and running through December.

Culture Minister Sukumol Kunplome said that a special song has been composed to honor the Crown Prince. She said traditional music shows, merit-making ceremonies and many other activities will be held.
Events planned include an art exhibition at the Bunditpatanasilpa Institute in Bangkok. A special concert was held at the Thailand Cultural Center July 21-22. Locally, Deputy Mayor Ronakit Ekasingh said the city is planning its own activities to celebrate the occasion.
The Ministry of Information and Communications Technology also joined in, launching the CrownPrince60.com website to mark the occasion. On the website, visitors will see six photos chosen by HRH the Crown Prince users can send as postcards to His Royal Highness.
In addition, Thailand Post Company has prepared a special set of stamps to commemorate the birthday. A total of 700,000 stamps will be available July 28.
Royal commemorations begin July 28, when a Buddha image devoted to HRH the Crown Prince will be enshrined at the royal nine-tiered umbrella throne, Amarin Winitchai Hall, with complete state ceremonial requirements.
HRH the Crown Prince opens the ceremonial curtain, to reveal the RVYC signboard inaugurating the new clubhouse in 2005.
Their Majesties the King and Queen will arrive at the Royal Palace from Siriraj Hospital with HRH the Crown Prince, entering through Wiset Chaisree gate, Piman Chaisree gate and the royal vehicle will be parked at Phra Thawan Thaewet Raksa.
Royal family members will light candles by the Lord Buddha image and present talipot fans, honoring HRH the Crown Prince to the Supreme Patriarch committee of 61 monks. The Supreme Patriarch, after having blessed, will request to initiate the prayers and shower holy water.
After the completion of the prayers, HM the King, HM the Queen and HRH the Crown Prince will light candles and receive blessing from the Supreme Patriarch, Wat Paak Naam, and HRH the Crown Prince will present monk robes and worshipping items.
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn goes through pre-flight preparations before takeoff on a special Buddhist Pilgrimage Flight he piloted to India.
HRH Prince Vajiralongkorn will be blessed by HM the King before the royal monk committee will complete the religious ceremony followed by Their Majesties taking their leave.
